The Heart Warming Launch occurred at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf in Bonifacio Global City, together will the Media and the Home Partners who share their Life Changing Situation under the care of Habitat for Humanity Housing Projects. It is called the “Dream Builder” program because it is the dream of every Filipino Family to have a decent and safe home, and Habitat for Humanity strives to make these dreams come true through the support of their donors. The Dream Builder program aspires to create sustainable communities by providing affordable and decent homes to live in.
The very first Non-profit Home Improvement Donation Center in Asia has finally opened it’s doors to welcome and encourage families to have a Safe, Sustainable and Affordable Home to Live in. ReStore is a Habitat For Humanity’s Nonprofit Improvement Donation Center that offers discounted “New” and “Slightly Used Furniture, Appliances, Building and Remodeling Materials and More”, Simply because Habitat For Humanity Envisions a World where everyone has a Decent Place to Live.
To combat the dumping of e-waste and promote stronger social and environmental practices, leading telecommunications company Globe Telecom is embarking on the biggest and most ambitious Mobile Recycling Program in the Philippines. Dubbed as Project 1 Phone, it is designed to create awareness on proper e-waste disposal and to promote sustainability. By Donating Unused, Non-working, or Damaged Phones and Tablets, Mobile Phone Batteries, and even Personal Computers to the campaign, each Filipino would be able to do his share in minimizing not only the environmental impact of E-waste but also counter its harmful effects on health such as skin diseases and possible damage to vital organs and the skeletal system.
Globe Telecom and Philippine Eagle Foundation has proven that synergy with the private sector and Groups such as PEF can be attained. During the Philippine’s Independence Day, a Marvelous National Symbol named Pamana, was released into it’s Natural Habitat in Mt. Hamiguitan in Davao Oriental. Globe Business continues to manifest its commitment to the sustainability and conservation of our Bio Diversity with its partnership with PEF. According to PEF, the Philippine Eagle (Pithecophaga Jefferyi) is listed in the international Union for Conservation of Nature as a “Critically Endangered” or experiencing extreme Fluctuating Population and the possibility of future generations not seeing them in the wild. With an estimate of 1,000 individual eagles remaining for they are hunted for poaching and for individual pleasure. During the Media Launch, I though Pamana grew up with PEF but sad to say she was rehabilitated for having wounds caused by an attempt poaching.
